Reckless Food Resource Consumption
The outright absurdity of the pet food industry's prevailing marketing strategy will be self-evident to anyone with an awareness of food resource conservation and environmentalism.
That pet food industry trend is: The false promotion of reckless food resource consumption.
What do we mean? Pet foods routinely portray prime cut meats and ingredients that are not actually in pet foods. In so doing, they sanction and promote the idea of the domestic pet population being an additional burden on the world's food resource system. The ridiculous underlying, subliminal message is -- "feed our pet foods because we include what you eat, which is safe, healthy, nutritious."
But as detailed in "Human Grade" Pet Foods Ingredients Foolishness, the portrayed ingredients don't actually comprise the pet foods.
Let that sink in for a moment... If commercial pet foods actually did contain only these human grade meats and ingredients, then that would be reckless food resource consumption, fundamentally anti-environmental, and unarguably unsustainable (Pet Food Sustainability Facts). But instead, the majority of pet foods don't actually contain such ingredients, but try to make you believe that they do. In other words, a false promotion of reckless food resource consumption. And they'd like for you to buy their foods on this pretense.

This reckless food resource marketing trend should be quashed by generations of environmentally-aware pet caretakers who know better.
